German Riding Pony Stallion
Makuba
Makuba is an imported German Riding Pony stallion, licensed by the German Hanoverian Verband's Riding Pony Division. In Germany, his 100-Day Test results included a "10" for temperament. In the US, Makuba is licensed by the ISR/Oldenburg Sport Pony Division, and the AWR Sport Pony Stallion Division. His offspring can be registered AWR, AWS, RPSI, ISR/Oldenburg, and with the German Hanoverian Pony and Small Horse Breeders Association.Makuba's dressage competition record includes placing 3rd in the US at Intermediaire I ridden by a Junior rider in 2003. In Germany he also competed successfully in jumping, to 1 meter 20.Makuba's greatest accomplishment has been his foals. His offspring in Germany have done very well in the evaluations; in one championship his colts took the top four places, and his fillies took three of the top four spots. In the US, Makuba has also been a successful sire. His first US offspring, a 2001 stallion, is recognized as a breeding stallion by the American Warmblood Registry and the American Warmblood Society and the German Hanoverian Pony and Small Horse Breeders Association. Markus, another 2001 stallion, is recognized by the AWS and the German Hanoverian Pony and Small Horse Breeders Association.

Makuba's oldest US offspring were born in 2001, but they are already making a name for themselves in the show ring. Modesto, who was bred by Klaus Biesenthal, was bought at age 2 by a junior rider, who broke him, trained him, and was 2005 Reserve Champion at Training level in the USDF All-Breeds Awards for ISR/Oldenburg (horses and ponies). Another, Mingo, was bred by Martin Roche. Now in Michigan, Mingo was 1st level champion at a recognized dressage show as a 4-year-old.
